FORMS OF ENERGY

There are many forms of energy. Scientists define energy as the ability to do work. Energy can be found in different forms. Although there are many forms of energy, but they can all be put into two categories, which are kinetic energy and potiential energy.

Kinetic energy is motion form by wares, electrons, atoms and objects. Electrical energy is one type of kinetic energy. When there’s a movement of electrical charges in an object, if produces energy.
Electrical charges moving through a wire is called electricity. Lightning is another example of electrical energy.

Radiant energy is electromagnetic energy that travels in transverse waves. Light is one type of radiant energy. Solar energy is an example of radiant energy. Besides that, thermal energy, or heat, is the internal energy in substances wherever there is vibration and movement of the atoms and molecules within substances. Geothermal energy is an example of motion energy.

Sound is the movement of energy through substances in longitudinal waves. Sound is produced when a force causes an object or substance to vibrate. The energy is transferred through the substance in a wave. Motion energy is produced when object and substances more when a force is applied.

The second category of energy is potiential energy, which means stored energy. One form of potential energy is chemical energy. Examples of chemical energy are biomass, petroleum and nature gas. Nuclear energy is energy stored in the nucleus of an atom.
The energy can be released when the nuclei are combined or split apart.

Grarifational energy is the energy of position or place. A rock vesting on top of a hill contains gravitational potential energy. Hydropower, such as water in a reservoir behind a dam, as an example of grarifational potiential energy.

However, there is an energy that possesses both kinetic and potiential energy. This energy is called mechanical energy. It is produced by object or machines by changing their positions.

As a conclusion, all these forms of energy helped human beings to manage their daily routine even better. But still there are many sources of energy that we have to conserve to enable us to use these energies continously.
