How to understand what is culture

There are some foreigners in my colleage,and I don't know how to understand the communication with the culture,at fact,I want to understand the culture and wish to know more about the foreign,but it's in China,if you are closed to them you will find you are called by others and there are many gossip about you,maybe sometimes it's my thought,that's my wrong thought,however everyday we can see many chinese students walk with the foreigners an d never care about others' words,maybe if you want to be successful you indeed need to change your common sence,no one can stop you learning knowlege,and the how-know you need to get from the exprienced,you should avoid to make yourself in other's life,you are you ,and no one has right to change you or arrange your time for you.
