Love and life

How many such a "minute" in people's life?

Human life on several occasions in this "one minute, the opportunity said "I love you" !

I would very much hope that this "one minute" no end, has come to an end - until the love of flowers wither!

With the love of my life to cherish and care to "every second"! Until the end!

Where is youth scene ?

Where is youth scene ?

The youth scene is deep in the remote desert , with loneliness, frustration and confusion;

The youth scene is tired I do not know the depths of the  Camel, echoing persistent and joy;

The youth scene is the  looming on the horizon of an oasis, he walked toward me

Nothing about life

n this vast world, you have a person stand in the way the central authorities, is left tens of thousands of men, the right-hand side is the tens of thousands of women, dense mass of the two stations and between strangers. The terrorist is surrounded by a black, pitch dark. To suppress the air condenses into if there are real lonely, I do not know the crowd who first issued a sigh, it sounds like a black wave to hit the far distance, and suddenly thousands of acoustic rise to sigh, confusing After the wave, but attributed to the deadly quiet. Just then, men and women like the new-born babies in general, curiously looked at the stranger side of the timid but no one dared step forward.
Over time, because I do not know to have lost its lonely, or out of curiosity, one of the men towards the opposite of a woman. As a result, they are in the dark of the countless pairs of eyes watching, hands out the dark, toward an unknown direction. Of course they did not know each other have never met, in the pitch dark world, this is only an accidental choice but to leave all the dark.
A man and a woman to leave the immediate cause of the commotion in the crowd, people on both sides of their own to find the other half, is to leave all this darkness. There have been disputes sad scene to tend to burst out of control, but still, as always, toward the opposite of black. The number of people in the crowd gradually began to become scarce, from the place of unaccompanied only those lonely people, as well as the other half was abandoned after the return.
And you are still a crowd of people standing on the central. Until you go across the Qianqi a warm and soft, small hands, to an unknown distance. She followed this way you go, nothing to do you any mercy. From then on, you will no longer be a person, she will be tired when you hold fast to that, in order to laugh you cry for you, solemnly tell you that you love her, she is willing to follow you to the ends of the earth, often heard here, You do not have to voice words, just want to close her Sishou
However, since the choice to the unknown darkness, lost the end is inevitable. You lost her, she does not bite out of your left. You could not understand the squat black in the paddock, waiting for the left hand, the temperature slowly cooling, and only acknowledged that she left. Now you are the one person. You turn cried, in the face of a black sky, Wang Qing and cry with her name. However, your answer is that the black rain. Heart of the cold. You have to make a desperate to go back, go back to the beginning crowded areas. When their own back here, only to find that no matter where, just a person, staring at the opposite black, was left tens of thousands of strange men, the right-hand side is a stranger to the tens of thousands of women. And you are still unfamiliar to a person standing in the middle.
bitter and downs over the years, perhaps, is his alone in the dark and the other half. This may only do you have a nightmare. Far from being a reality and to leave comes as simple as that. Wake up, the world is no longer just black, but the colorful colorful, but you are still a crowd of people standing in the middle of the shuttle. For this reason, so you vowed to find her dream, even if you do not know her real name, where she did not know. But you always have to believe that she had suggested that the love that you can restore the past.
walking in the evening on the road, you begin to feel the heart, so you can see the love of others. Stone edge of a lonely figure is quietly gazed with a direction of the mouth of a street person Are at a loss to the crowd between the face and you pass, the bus corner of a pair of eyes are showing sadness. You know, because these are love, so it appears to be so lonely.
If the eyes do not see, you listen with their ears. Park quietly voice often feel a little unusual, such as not smoking a cigarette end, such as the mute open the screen, like a heartbeat stopped, the people of the world known as the Unification sad. Side of the road corridor has been unable to cry, it is a melancholy Sixinliefei of Li Xian's arrow, cut through the air, into the heart. The square facing the street lover, sometimes bow to murmur, Xi Xi and sometimes kiss goodbye. You know, because these are love, so it appears to be Wang Qing
0K; E ~ lv B V0 when you have often in a noisy city street Staring, all the time to think about a person, with all the serious vowed to watch her life. Now you no longer need to sweet dreams, love chasing hard when you do not know since when is no longer simply, the dream has always been aware of only one-sided fantasy, reality has never imagined himself as simple as . It turned out that until you do not want to, only those found on the decline for the love story finally become the only story. All because of the complex is no longer survival, is obsessed with the past can only help, and you can not get the desired outcome. Then, years later you why do we still have a trace may never existed shadow of the air.
Although love is so relentless and, also said that neither the people of the world, but never like to hear the words. At least, when you hear the word, the heart will not feel so cold. Growth , For fear of know the truth, so do not always deliberately expose its veil, even if it is already known to lie in it, but I hope it will bring unexpected joy. It is looking forward to doing some of the remote The happy, so you looked at her close to himself, pretending to have a calm, careful manner all his own, before she was exposed,  smile, wanton pain, it felt like an addictive poison, narcotic Defensive instinct. But soon after, you looked at her, pretending to have a strong, silent all their exposed in the face of injury, no choice but to bear, to heart-hurted clenched fist, as this process is a Ironically, a joke, because you know the fate of the face of everything done by the point

Please save water

As we know, there's not enough water for us to drink. So people lose their lives because of lackof  water. In many countries, people have to cut trees to get water for living. There's nothing to keep water from running away. Also we have polluted the land, the river and the air. So we have to face more and more floods and droughts .
It's time that we must do something useful to protect our environment. We can plant trees and grass. We can save the water and ask ourfriends and parents to do so. We can't throw any litter onto the ground and we should collect them for recycling.
If we take good care of our earth mother  today,it will take us more tomorrow.

My summer vacation

The summer vacation was most enjoyable. I spent Three days helping my grandparents to work in the countryside, I saw mountains and fields covered with green plants. At the west of the village there is a small river sometimes I went swimming there, the water  quite clean and clear.

I kept a diary every day. Besides doing farm work, I also help the children with their lessons. All of them be interest in English. Now they could read and write well, but they have difficult in reading English. So every day in the morning I spent about two hours helping them improve their listening and spoken English. They have  all made great progress. Their parents all thought highly of me. I now realize that knowledge is very much needed in the countryside.

The value of Advertisements

Advertisers tend to think great and maybe that is why they' re always coming in for criticism.Their critics seem to resent them because they have a flair for self-promotion and because they have so much money to throw around.

It only goes to show how much profit the big companies are making. Why don't they stop advertising and reduce the price of their goods? After all, it's the consumer who pays."

He'd have to pay a great deal more if advertising didn't create mass markets for products. It is precisely because of the heavy advertising that consumer goods are not so expensive. But we get the wrong ideas if we think the only purpose of advertising is to sell products. Other equally important functions is to inform. Advertisements introduce us to new products or remind us of the existence of ones we already know about.

Lots of people pretend that they never read advertisements, but this claim may be seriously doubted. It is hardly possible not to read advertisements these days. And what fun they often are, too! A cheerful, witty advertisement makes such a difference to a drab wall or a newspaper full of the daily ration of calamities.

We must not forget, either, that advertising makes a positive contribution to our pockets. Newspapers, commercial radio and television companies could not subsist without this source of revenue. The fact that we pay so little for our daily paper, or can enjoy so many broadcast programs is due direly to the money spent by advertisers.

Another thing we mustn't forget is the"small ads. "which are in virtually every newspaper and magazine. What a tremendously useful service they perform for the community! Just about anything can be accomplished through these columns. No other item in a newspaper provides such entertaining reading or offers such a deep insight into human nature. It's the best advertisement for advertising there is!

The Heart of Prajna Paramita Sutra

When Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara was practicing the profound Prajna Paramita, he illuminated the Five Skandhas and saw that they are all empty, and he crossed beyond all suffering and difficulty.

Shariputra, form does not differ from emptiness; emptiness does not differ from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness itself is form. So too are feeling, cognition, formation, and consciousness.

Shariputra, all Dharmas are empty of characteristics. They are not produced, not destroyed, not defiled, not pure; and they neither increase nor diminish. Therefore, in emptiness there is no form, feeling, cognition, formation, or consciousness; no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no sights, sounds, smells, tastes, objects of touch, or Dharmas; no field of the eyes up to and including no field of mind consciousness; and no ignorance or ending of ignorance, up to and including no old age and death or ending of old age and death. There is no suffering, no accumulating, no extinction, and no Way, and no understanding and no attaining.

Because nothing is attained, the Bodhisattva through reliance on Prajna Paramita is unimpeded in his mind. Because there is no impediment, he is not afraid, and he leaves distorted dream-thinking far behind. Ultimately Nirvana! All Buddhas of the three periods of time attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi through reliance on Prajna Paramita. Therefore know that Prajna Paramita is a Great Spiritual Mantra, a Great Bright Mantra, a Supreme Mantra, an Unequalled Mantra. It can remove all suffering; it is genuine and not false. That is why the Mantra of Prajna Paramita was spoken. Recite it like this:

Gaté Gaté Paragaté Parasamgaté

Bodhi Svaha!

Memories of the past time

Books said that when people like the memories of the time he should be changing the old, but I have found themselves in the young, although I was young when the time, every day I live is full of gratitude, I do not know why, suddenly so grateful to have Meet all the acquaintance, understanding and misunderstanding, joy and sadness, complained in the past, but now they are really sincere gratitude, my life almost every day will repeat an idea, that is, social morality, I know I can not change What, but I am not stubborn persistence, perhaps one day someone will understand I do not care for the fate of thinking over the past 20 years I missed a lot have been many, have given up on perseverance, could not bear that missed, and So it seems that the moment is nothing in the way before, I really was in his forgiveness, forgiveness, the naive and have their own fault, those who can not look back on the events of the past, even if I did not lose any, but then disappeared in childhood is the But I should not regret the past is always better, life is the real experience, rather than analysis, no one is not sure that road to paradise, but it can certainly have every road leading to Success is not a choice to determine the right or wrong, but it does know that every choice is their own decision, is our own road. This world, is the good fortune to help some people, people can not help , because no one did not owe. But love, we must know how to treasure!

Choosing the right career is very important. For this reason we should try to find out what our talents and interests are and how we can use them. There are many careers open to each of us. Many persons find their place in government service, and many others may de interested in going into the business world. Teaching, newspaper work, medicine, engineering, science------ these and many other fields offer fascinating careers to persons with talent and training.

Who Should Be Responsible for Our parents ?

As the result of birth control and improvement of medical care, supporting the old has become an issue of China today, n
Because of the different culture and traditio , supporting the old is different from country to country. For instance,British is a developed country and the problem of supporting the old is solved very well these years. The government takes a series of measures to solve the problem and also pays a lot of money for the old every year in order to make them live better.
In China, because of its tradition, the old people are mostly supported by their children. But our government and our society are taking measures to support the old.
As the development of economy and society is so rapid that we believe the system of our country to support the old would be perfect one day.

First Aid

It is important for you to learn some knowledge about first aid in your daily life. If a person has an accident, he needs medical care before a doctor can be found. When you give first aid, you must pay attention to three things. First, when a person stops breathing, open his/her mouth and see if there is food at the bulk of his/her mouth. Second, if a person cannot breathe, do you best to start his/her breathing at once, using a mouth-to-mouth way. Third, if a person is hurt badly, try at once to stop the bleeding. Then take him/her to a doctor. If a person loses one third o! his/her blood, he/she may die.
Many accidents may happen at home. All parents should know first aid in order to deal with common injuries which may happen to their children. When a person is bitten by an animal, wash the wound with cold running water before he/she is taken to see a doctor. When a person is burnt, wash and cool the area of the skin under the cold tap for a while. Then put a piece of dry clean cloth over the burn. If the person is badly burnt, take him/her to the doctor. If a person cuts his/her finger, clean it and put a piece of paper round the cut. Everybodyrshould know some first aid in order to save othe people's lives.

Cars Drive in Ordinary Chinese Homes

Some industry insiders claim, "China which used to be a state on two wheels will some day be a state on four wheels." With the level of life raised, more families will prefer to buy cars. Cars provide speed, comfort and convenience in getting around. As the product of modern civilization, cars are likely to play a vital part in daily activities of Chinese.
Obviously, cars, like anything else, have more than one face to families in China. Let's have a closer look at the present situation. We may find that though some people can afford them, crowded streets, limited parking lots and costly maintenance are headaches to private car drivers.
Although private car drivers have some troubles, driving a car indicates the trend of modern living. With low tax, sufficient highway development and parking lots, cars are bound to be household vehicles with high performance. Then private cars will enjoy more popularity.

The Bicycle in China

The bicycle is the most popular means of transportation in China. China is a country “on bicycle wheels”. People ride them for various purposes such as going to and from school and work. Bicycles are very cheap and easy to buy in China.

There are many advantages to riding a bicycle. First, using a bicycle can greatly help reduce the air pollution in many big cities. Second, people can improve their health by riding a bicycle.

The future of bicycle will be bright. In some European countries, city governments have arranged pedestrians to use “public bicycles” to travel round the city center free of charge.

Should Men and Women Be Equal?

People have different ideas about this issue, Some people say that men are superior to women in ability because men are physically stronger, do most of the hard labor in the world and hold most important positions. Other people believe that women have the ability to compete with men. There have been many famous women state leaders and great scientists in the world. We should fully carry out the principle “to each according to his work” so that the enthusiasm of both men and women for work can be fully aroused.

Hosting the Olympic bring gain to BEIJING

Hosting the Olympics surely would bring about much gain to a city. Boom of the local economy, more jobs, and the possibility of generating income all sound extremely attractive to the municipal government. At the same time, better infrastructure, cleaner environment, enjoying the spectacular game with hundreds of sports elites and entertainment stars, and the opportunity of contacting people from all over the world also seem exciting to the citizens. Besides, the bidding will definitely promote the patriotic emotion and pride, as well as the moral behavior in local people. In most cases, bidding for the Olympics is well supported by both the public and the central government.

Unfortunately, this is not the entire view of the pretty picture. If looking from another angle, the Olympic bid might bring about some side-effects to a city.

First of all, the environmental impacts, including the increasing exhaust fumes of cars, more pressure on water resources, huge amount of wasted leaflets and other materials used for public activities, are most probably neglected. In order to broaden the streets, some trees may have to be cut. Near the construction site, the tiny dust may linger in the air for a long time. Reduction of farmland may be caused by the need of setting up new sports centre or accommodation facilities. These environmental consequences can be especially serious in a resource-limited and densely-populated city in a third-world country.

Besides, if talking about the economic benefit, it should not be forgotten that a quick boosting may lead to bubble growth, which may easily crash. If not well managed and organized, the big event may not be so profitable, and the new facilities may be forever empty after the games. Yes, there have been cases that host cities ended up with enormous debts.

Finally, let’s think about the low-income groups in the city. What will they get from the Olympics bidding? More tax, more fees, more expensive property prices, and higher cost of living. These definitely are not good news for them.

To bid or not to, this is a question. It is up to the choice of the municipal government, and the local public. After the decision, what they can do is to make the most of the benefit, and reduce the drawbacks to the least.

Grad student be paid higher than non-grads?

In our country, it is obvious now that the university graduates earn more money than non-graduates (a funny contrast in which It was opposite scenario when in 1970s china). I quite agree with those graduates who have paid a lot for their studies and expect to make more for either himself or his family. However, it is not so optimistically for those who hope to make it. The critical career competition makes them frustrated due to many factors involved.

One of the utmost factors is they feel what they anticipate is not matching up with what they have found in reality. Many university graduates are not satisfied with what they get for what they have done. As a matter of fact, some of them expect so unrealistic that they immediately lose the credit to the workforce they belong to. On contrary, some of the non-graduate students who are more realistic in career hunting tend to get more satisfied job compared with graduates. Thus what really matters here in salary balance is how one can contribute to the organization rather than what background they hold.

The tuition is really high in China. Many high quality students due to this have lost their academic pursuit. This is really shameful for a family or any government who initially should take the burden for whatever reason is supposed to be. Any responsible government should inevitably take this burden and put more money in order to bring up better next generation for the nation.

The effect on children by TV

As science and technology accelerates, television, as a powerful invention in the 20th century is becoming unbelievably popular in people’s life. People can be acquainted with the current affairs and appreciate the affluent programs right at home. As to my opinion on it, television will not whittle children’s creativity as exaggerated.

To begin with, television is the most effective means to inform children of the latest news and scientific improvement all over the world. Television reveals the recent development of some researches, such as the new computing technology, clone technology, genetic breakthroughs and so on, which can inspire the imagination of children and motivate them to conduct relevant experiments, making new findings and breakthroughs in their study.

Moreover, some programs like adventures and geography can enlarge children’s capacity of knowledge. With the emergence of information technology, the knowledge presented in textbooks cannot cater for children’s curiosity any more. Children need to learn wider knowledge and know more about our world. Programs like adventures can cultivate children’s creativity and the ability to tackle difficulty; programs like geography can teach children knowledge about different countries in the world and initiate their aspiration to know about the nature; programs about science can inspire children’s interest in science and technology.

Admittedly, the inappropriate programs on television somehow play negative role in the shape of children. The films containing violence, crimes and pornography contents tempt children to go astray.

In a word, it is my strong belief that television will not impair children’s creativity as is asserted. Nevertheless, the government and the whole society should exert to eliminate the unhealthy contents on TV and ensure the children with a favorable growing environment.

Sister Carrie

Carrie was such an ordinary rural girl at the beginning of the story. Sitting on the seat of a bus, she couldn’t help feeling exciting at the sight of the metropolis’ spectacle. She was impressed deeply by large crowd on the avenue, the spacious square or tall buildings.
Far more different from other heroines, Carrie was not a plain pure angel like Snow-white, nor was she brave enough to be a heroine of revolutionist or even a reformer, nor was she so clever as to be a successful career woman who start from scratch.

What attracted her most, after her entering this huge metropolis was the incredible fineries, fashion shoes, smart handbags displaying in the shop windows, the jewellerys shining brightly behind the glass. She dreamed that one day, she could wear all of these, jogging gracefully into the most luxurious hotel with focused sights of admiration.

And this was not merely a dream. Because she had large eyes which can earn others’ sympathy, even love. She had wonderful figure which can win others’ hearts. However, anything she got, anywhere she reached, had not come from her ambition. Things happened, and then she accepted. That’s what she had just done — just to accept willingly from the bottom of her heart. She was not at all an evil woman who would give anything for the fortune or fame. However, she would give uo something for a better life when her instinct defeated her intellect.

That was Carrie, a girl had her own desire, a human being just like many others in the realistic world.

There’s one sentence written in chapter VIII:” When this jangle of free-will instinct shall have been adjusted, when perfect understanding has given the former the power to replace the latter entirely, man will no longer vary.” However, how many people can go that further.

And I want to quote another sentence to wind up my essay:

“In Carrie — as in how many of our wordings do they not? — instinct and reason, desire and understanding, were at war for the mastery.”

Camille

Chinese version of “Camille” a few years ago. At that time I was deeply moved by the main character Marguerite Gautier. “Camille” or “The Lady of the Camellias” by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is the story of Marguerite Gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800's, and how she falls in love with a young man, Armand Duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. Unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was a noble woman at heart. When I first began to read the book, I did not care for Marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as I got further into the narrative, I realized that her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. She felt used, abused and unloved, until the gentle Armand Duval came into her life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not for what she could do for him. It must have taken great courage for Marguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing all along that it was probably too good to be true and would not last indefinitely. And it also showed that Marguerite really loved Armand Duval for she could even change herself for him.
However, happiness didn’t last for long. When M. Duval, Armand's father, came to her, pleading for her to leave Armand to save both Armand's reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, Marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. She felt that it was her duty, because she loved Armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting Armand temporarily. She reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day Armand would forgive her. Sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, Julie Duprat, who helped her during her illness. She had her journal sent to Armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. I think Dumas's last few lines about Marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and I also agreed with his view that while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. A person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. This applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. And this is the fact, which exists in the whole society.
As far as the other characters in the book, I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being Armand and Julie Duprat. Of course, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. wanted her body and appearance. The Duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. And lastly, Prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used Marguerite almost worse than the men. I also think she was jealous of the fact that Marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.

"Hamlet" i like most

" Hamlet " certainly does not have the big difference in the superficial plot with the historical fable, spoke or the Danish prince the story which revenged for the father, in which fills the rank smell of blood violence and dies.Just like the dramatis personae Horatio said: " you may hear to to rape massacre, the unusual repair behavior, the dark center decision, accidental slaughter, borrows the hand murder , as well as falls into suicide result." Windingly elects the plot, tightly centers on the revenge to launch. Hamlet Wittenberg hurries back the home in a hurry from Germany, is attends his father's funeral, enables him to accept, he not catches up with father's funeral, actually witnessed the mother and the Uncle Claudius' wedding ceremony, this had caused Hamm the Wright suspicion at the heart, added night above meets in the royal palace castle with father's ghost, the ghost sorrow sued, this pile atrocity was Uncle Hamlet the behavior, and wanted him to revenge for the father. To this, he started the difficult revenge course, launched the life and death contest with Claudius. Finally, sent out sword the revenge to Claudius
Hamlet is a man with contradictory,he had many chances to kill Claudius, but he hesitated, which reflects the religious thought poisons.

With the development of Shanghai,we live more annd more comfortablely,we can buy all kinds of goods in Nanjing Road,we can relax ourselves in OrientalLand.but as the coin has two sides, there are also many problems in Shanghai ,but they are being solved. One or them is housing and another is traffic.
There are so many narrow roads in Shanghai,so we are often held up by in traffic jams.We must have the roads widened. The road which lay in our neiborhood was also a narrow one.It was widened one year ago and we moves our house to the suburb. We move into a new flat. The new flat is very big. There are also some paces for me to take up physical exercises. It doesn't matter that the new flat is far from the city center, because we can go there by subway.

Do not putting off things until tomorrow

Kevin2000, a 17-year-old high school senior is a boy like some of us who like putting off things until tomorrow. He often says: " I'll do it tomorrow." One Friday evening, as usual, he put off his homework and went to sleep.
He dreamed time passed like a shooting arrow. Now it was 2030,he saw a man wearing a shabby jacket full of patches, wandering in the street. Kevin 2000 found the man liked familiar. Suddenly he realized the man was none other than 47-year-old Kevin, himself. He couldn't believe it! Why could he become so terrible?
Then Kevin 2030 told him it was because he always puts off things until tomorrow. In the end he had accomplished nothing.
Shocked by his dream, Kevin 2000 woke up. He realized never put what one can do today till tomorrow. Because the future is now.
Yes, you may say it is just a story. The plot maybe exaggerated. However you may find your shadow in the story. But why do some people always leave things till tomorrow? To them, time is never to be used up. If today ends, there is still tomorrow.
In my opinion, Future is somewhat a mystery, for nobody can tell what his future will be. You may win the lottery and become a millionaire overnight and you may have an accident and become paralyzed. So future is just like a butterfly, when you extend your arms and try to get it, are you sure you can get it.
William Shakespeare once said:" On the great clock of time, there is only one word-that is 'now'. Now means today. Now is more practical than future. If you grasp today firmly, you'll catch your future. Maybe everyone knows the famous slogan of Nike Company, "Just do it!" I'm going to add one word to it, "Just do it now!"

the movie NO THIEF

just now, one of my good friends told me  that her electronic dictionary had gone. maybe someone BORROWED it without PERMANENTLY. it just happened in the library of our campus.

several month ago, another classmate of mine lost her cellphone at the crossroad of CaoBao and GuiLin Road. the last second she still used her cellohone to receive a call, but even before the traffic light turned from red to green, she suddenly found that the phone had gone! i was at present. maybe the thief even walked away pretending to be at leisure just under my eyelid! we called 110 at once. the police came but they still could do nothing except putting on records simply. one of the police said to us that it was much more important for us to take good care of our possession than to rely on the policeman to arrest all the rampant thieves! waht he had said was really with reason and unforgotten!
no thief in the world! everybody hope so!

Letter to the University President

As a regular student at our college, I have some complaint to make about the canteen service on campus.

Firstly, the canteen environment is very bad. Actually, it is becoming more and more crowded and noisy with an ever larger presence of vocational students every term. Secondly, the canteen workers are bad-mannered. Far from being warm and kind-hearted, they always seem to be cold and rude to us students. Thirdly and most importantly, the dishes at our canteen are too expensive, though they are by no means good quality or delicious. The survey the Student Union carried out last week reveals that on average a student will spend 10 to 12 yuan on meals every day. This is for more than the food expenses of students in the neighborhood colleges.

Nutritious and delicious meals well within the students' means are very important for young students. I really wish measures could be taken to improve our canteen service

You Have a Choice

is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free.Today I can fell sad that I don’t have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.Today I can lament over all that my parents didn’t give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping. What today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have

Save electricity

As is known to all, owing to the lack of resources and the increase of population, we have suffered the shortage of electricity in East China in the last few years. And now, summer, in which a large amount of electricity will be badly needed, is just around the corner.
We are all familiar with the effects brought by the power cut. Our work is interrupted frequently and we have to do things by the light of candles, which is harmful to our eyes. At home, we have to stay in the darkness doing nothing in the evening. So everyone in our neighbourhood shall not neglect this solution--saving electricity. Besides the efforts made by the government, there're more we can and should do, like using the air-conditioner less often, turning off the light upon leaving, reminding family members of the importance of saving electricity and so on.

Opportunity

Some people regard opportunity as the most important part of their life. It's the way to success. So when they see their friends succeed, they will complain that they are not lucky enough to have the opportunity. But other people think that opportunity is sheer luck, with their hard work, knowledge and skill, opportunity will be waiting for them everywhere.

Although the attitudes towards opportunity are different, opportunity is important indeed, and no one should neglect. It can make a person successful. We should grasp every valuable opportunity and make good use of it, otherwise nothing can be left with us but regret and disappointment.

But I think it is not opportunity itself that decides a person's success or failure. It is fair to every person, I think. To grasp the opportunity, we need knowledge, skill and experience. In a word, opportunity is important but not decisive.

Pandas

There are some pandas in the zoo. They look like a bear, but they are not a bear. They live in China. They have a small tail and fat body. They are black and white. They’re very clumsy, but they can climb trees. They like to eat bamboo very much. Look! The baby panda is under the mother panda, they are sleeping. They look very lovely.  Pandas are my favourite animals.

Living Life Over

If I had my life to live over...I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was strained and the sofa faded.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up onasummer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed. ld have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television-and more while watching life.

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretendingtheearth would go into a holding patter if I were not there fortheday.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, would not show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

There would have been more I love yous ... more I'm sorrys...but mostly, given another shots at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it...live it...and never give it

On Friendship

On Friendship
Everyone needs friendship. No one can sail the ocean of life single handed. We need help from, and also give help to, others. In the modern age, people attach more importance to relations and connections. A man of charisma has many friends. His power lies in his ability to give.
The term, friend, covers a wide range of raeanings. It can be a nodding acquaintance, a comrade, a confident, a partner, a playmate, a brother, an intimate etc.
As life is full of strife and conflict, we need friends to support and help as out of difficulties. Our frinods give us warnings against danger. True friends share not only joy but, more often than not, they share sorrow.
With friendship, life is happy and harmonious. Without friendship, life is hostile and unfortunate. I have friends in the rank and file. Some are rich and in power. Some are low and common. Some are like myself, working as a teacher, reading and writing and content with the simple life we have. To many of my friends, I know what to treasure, what to tolerate and what to share, I will never forget my old friends and keep making new friends. I will not he cold and indifferent to the poor friends and will show concern for them, even if it is only a comforting word.

The Importance of Physical Exercise

The Importance of Physical Exercise
Everyone hopes to live happily in the world. Physical exercise is indispensable to a happy life. There is a famous saying: "Life lies on exercise." Although you will not necessarily die without regular physical exercises, they' II certainly help you live longer and more healthily.
Exercise is good for us to build our bodies. It helps co - ordinate the different parts of our bodies when we have sports. For example, we must try our best to co - ordinate the movements of the arms and legs when we play basketball, or we won't be able to shoot the basket. Exercise also benefits our organs. It lets the heart beat faster than usual, and then helps enlarge the blood vessels to protect us from heart attacks.
Exercise can also contribute to the development of our ability to response agilely. For instance, when you play table- tennis, you must try to reflect as quickly as you can so that you may fight back at the right position at the fight moment.
Exercise can also contribute to improving our mood. When you do exercise, you move a lot, and you have to be more active. It helps you become more optimistic.
Exercise will fill your life with various contents and make it more colorful.
What's more, exercise will help you get rid of your inertia. If you keep doing exercise regularly, you will never be a lazy person. Therefore, exercise has great effect on one's character.
In a word, exercise is helpful, important and absolutely necessary.

Reading- The Best Means to Acquire knowledge

Reading- The Best Means to Acquire knowledge
Knowledge may be acquired through many ways. One way of getting knowledge is from travelling Another way is by conversation, especially one with a great man. A person may also become knowledgeable through other ways such as listening to the radio or watching television. The best way to acquire knowledge, however, is through reading.
Reading as a means of obtaining knowledge has a number of advantages over many other ways. To begin with, it is the most consistent way of getting knowledge. One can read regularly but few people can travel in the same way. Secondly, reading can ensure a thorough grasp of what you are interested in. This is hardly so when one is listening to the radio or watching TV. Finally, reading is the most flexible of all the ways to obtain knowledge. For example, one can always read for ten minutes before going to bed, but it is not always possible for him to converse with others at such a late hour.
However, there exists one problem about reading. There are all kinds of Books in society
Some are good, while others are bad. 'Good books are beneficial to our .soul while bad ones are harmful to our mind. Therefore, it is of great importance for the reader to separate good plants from wild weeds. We should read good books and reject harmful ones.

Dietary Changes and Health Care

Dietary Changes and Health Care
As is shown in the graph, China's food distribution has taken great changes from 1960's to 1990's According to this statistics of cereals, vegetable, meat, and fruits, the number of those who eat rice, flour or vegetable has greatly decreased in the past four decades. In contrast of this the number of those who eat oil or meat has sharply increased. From such dietary changes, we can perceive the rapid improvement of our people' s living standard.
Why does this improvement occur? The direct reason is the fact that the Chinese people have attached much importance to their health care. Nationally, China's economic growth is booming, and more people are getting richer. Individually, everyone's consumption of food is increasingly varied. In particular, most of people are reluctant to eat much vegetable, but much meat and oil in their diets.
In my view, the changes of China's dietary distribution seem to be both positive and negative. The positive aspect is that China' s economical growth has given rise to the higher level of dietary standard, with most of people living rich and happy. But the negative aspect is that, I'm afraid, less eating vegetable will lead to poorer health, such as lacking vitamin nutrients in one's body. Therefore, we think it necessary for the Chinese to be aware of the balanced diets: Lots of vegetable and meat, which may gain us healthier bodies in the new century.

What is beauty in your mind?

Everyone admires beauty. Everyone has his own standard about beauty.

Nowadays some people tend to think that they own beauty if they have a good looking. They are not satisfied with their appearance. They spend much money taking a kind of operation. Can beauty really be man-made? If so, everybody can get beauty. As a result, there is no beauty at all.

The appearance is given by our parents and is unique in the world. Everyone should value it. I would rather nature as the standard of beauty. Just accept yourself, accept everything the god gives to you, and create the beautiful life belonging to you.

Many heroes don't have beautiful surface. However, their beautiful images often come to our minds. Their beauty comes from their contributions to the society.

Don't be eager to judge whether a person is beautiful or not without a thorough understanding of him. A beautiful person is not the one with a good looking, but with a broad and kind heart.

Good looking is pleasant while spiritual beauty is more important. As an old saying goes, “ Virtue is fairer than beauty. ” If you have a kind heart, you own real beauty.

Losing weight in the right ways

Nowadays weight-losing has become popular among young and middle-aged women. In order to make themselves pretty-looking, they try many different ways of losing weight.  Some go on a diet, some take exercise, some eat medicine ,others even turn to operation for help.  As a result,a lot of products have come into being, such as special medicines, tea and equipment. They are used in different ways and work differently, but some have side effects.
In my opinion, it's understandable that women seek beauty, but they should do it in a proper way.  Taking exercise is the way that I most favor.  But the other methods are likely to do harm to people's health more or less.

Dont Waste Water

A man is washing his clothes ,regardless of the notice above "Save the Water Please."
As we see ,water is the source of life.  But there is very limited available water resources in our world.  So we shouldn't waste it.  Of course, we have to use it to drink, cook, wash, clean and etc. But we must remember not to use it extravagantly. If we didn't stop such wasteful habits, we would cut off the development of the world and the human life.

Booming Electronic Commerce

Booming Electronic Commerce
As can be seen from the chart that money value of annual global electronic transactions id increasing gradually in the seven years. In 1997, the money value of global electronic commerce transactions is US$ 2.6 billion, while the number reaches US$1000 billion, 500 times that of 1997. why is electronic commerce booming nowadays?
Several factors contribute to this phenomenon. First, the availability of computer is the foremost cause. The rapid development of computer technology enables everybody to have access to computer and Internet. Internet now no more a stranger to common people. Second, the technology of Internet is becoming more and more mature. People, who at first do not trust business transactions on Internet, now become convinced that doing business on Internet is very convenient and effective. Thirdly, electronic commerce is the fastest way so far to make transactions across far distance. It makes it possible to do business at home and it saves time and unnecessary formalities as well. That is why electronic commerce is preferable to the prosperity of world economy and it also give birth to SOHO, a special group of people working at home. The trend towards a promising e-commerce is inevitable. Therefore let’s get prepared to embrace this irretrievable trend.

Should the pirate software and movies be banned?

The pirated software means a great loss to the developers of the original software as the former erodes market shares of their original counterpart. Similarly, when the pirated movies attract more viewers, movie companies find their audience decreasing and accordingly their income down.
The other side of the coin is that the pirated software and movies promise their consumers a number of benefits. For one thing, they are much cheaper than the original. For another allow their customers cheaper access to more tools and entertainment. They are poplar because they seem to cater better for the interest of their customers.
Despite these seeming benefits, the pirated software and movies should be banned, because by nature they represent unfair competition in our economic life. encouraged or left out of control, they would upset normal competition and eventually lead to the breakdown of economic order. Software developers would cease to offer products of quality and movie companies would refuse to produce good movies. If all this happened, ultimately customers would have to suffer. Therefore, we’d better stop the pirated software and movies

Can Money Buy Happiness

Can money buy happiness? Various people have various answers. Some people think that money is the source of happiness. With money, one can buy whatever he enjoys. With money, one can do whatever he likes. So, in their minds, money can bring comfort, security, and so on. Money, as they think, is the source of happiness. But there are still a lot of others who think that money is the root of all evil. Money drives people to steal, to rob, and to break the law. A lot of people became criminals just because they were in search of money. And in the Western countries, there is nothing that can't be bought by money. Many people lose their own lives when hunting it. I think that money is essential to life and we cannot do without money. But even though money is necessary to life, it can't buy happiness. Happiness is not something that can be measured by money. It is a state of mind. One can have plenty of money, with which he can buy whatever he wants, and at the same time he is not happy because he is never satisfied or he is troubled by various kinds of problems. Therefore, although money is necessary for a happy life, it can't buy happiness.

The World Is Getting Smaller and Smaller

Most of us have had an experience which reminds us the world is getting smaller. Perhaps when you went to some place far away from the city you live in and thought you knew nobody there, you were surprised to find that you ran into one of your old classmates on the street! Then both of you cried out, “What a small world!” Why is the world getting smaller and smaller? For one thing, modern technology has created various means of transportation. And they are more and more available. Buses, trains, planes and taxis are found in most cities of the world. They carry goods and passengers to and from every corner of the world. For another thing, with the development of modern society, people are in contact with one another more frequently. Everyday we must deal with a lot of people unknown to us before. The more advanced a society, the more contacts we make with others. So we can draw the conclusion that as long as technology makes progress, the world will grow smaller and smaller.

My Most Favorite Programme

The News Report has always been my favorite TV program. Almost everyday I turn on the TV at 6:30 p.m. and wait for the news program. This has become a part of my life. The News Report contains a large amount of information C from the international political situation to the latest foot-ball game. And the most important character is its fast pace. Because of this fast pace, news programs can contain much information in a short time. In my opinion, the News Report is more than a TV program. It is a way of communication. From this program, people can know and understand world affairs. The world thus becomes smaller and smaller. I especially appreciate this benefit of watching the news.s

The Positive and Negative Aspects of Sports

To a Chinese, the task of learning English well is not easy. So I, like many other English learners, have met with difficulties in learning English during the past seven years. But I managed to overcome them and made much progress. The spelling and meaning of words can be said to be the first difficulty I met as a beginner. But I found our my own way to deal with them. As to spelling, I never copied a new work again and again to remember it, but tried to find its relevance to the sound. In fact, as long as I can read the word out, I can write it out. As to the meaning, I rarely recite its Chinese translation but often put the word into the sentence to learn its meaning. Moreover, if you use a word quite often, its spelling and meaning will be no problem. After all, we are learning English in order to use it. Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. But I have also got over it. I have not read lots of grammar books. But I spent much time reading the articles written by native speakers or specialists in English. By doing so, I came to gain “a sense of English language”. I began to gain a feel for which sentences are “good English” and which are not. Finally, I want to say that overcoming all these difficulties requires perseverance. In the past seven years I spent at least an hour on English each day. I believe this is an important reason why I am able to make progress in learning English.

A travel to Harbin in winter vacation

Last winter holiday, I went to Harbin with my mother. It's very cold in winter. There is snow and ice everywhere and you are always in a white world. You must wear warm clothes. The most exciting thing is playing with snow. Skating is also very interesting there.I will' always remember Harbin, for the snow, the ice and all the beautiful things. I love Harbin

Workers aren't bridging the generation gap

Workers aren't bridging the generation gap because 20-something employees rarely chat to those in their 50s and 60s, according to a new survey. The poll of 3,494 adults by employment services group Randstad USA showed that 51 percent of baby boomers and 66 percent of older workers report little to no interaction with their younger colleagues. Employment experts fear the lack of communication could create a shortage of US skilled labor because retiring baby boomers aren't passing on their knowledge and experience. "Older workers stereotypically view younger workers as not as competent and not having such a work ethic," said Eric Buntin, managing director of marketing and operations for Randstad USA. "Younger workers view the older as not thinking outside the box." He said the different generations of employees do not have the same expectations of work and values of employment, which is a difficult gap to bridge. "The key is that organizations find a way structurally for generations to interact but it can't be a rah-rah coffee or lunch," Buntin said. "It has to be bringing them together in meaningful ways so they're engaged in projects together and that has to be managed in the course of time." The survey examined four generations, Generation Y, born between 1980 to 1988; Generation X, born 1965 to 1979; baby boomers born in 1946 to 1964 and matures born before 1945. The survey also showed that three of the four generations said they have little to no interaction with the most experienced workers -- matures.

American women are more concerned about losing weight?

American women are more concerned about losing weight than they are about suffering from cancer, heart disease or diabetes, a survey showed. More than half of the 3,000 women questioned in the poll by Meredith Corporation and NBC Universal were worried about diet and weight, compared to 23 percent who were concerned about cancer and 20 percent who were anxious about their cardiovascular health. The women were asked to identify the health issues they were concerned about from a list of 20 problems. The survey showed many women thought they should be slimmer, with more than 80 percent saying they were overweight. But just 43 percent said they were exercising at least three times a week, and 11 percent played team and individual sports. And less than two-thirds of all women said they get an annual physical. "These findings should be a wake-up call to American women everywhere to make their yearly checkups without fail and make their own personal health a top priority," said Diane Salvatore, editor in chief of Ladies' Home Journal, which is published by Meredith Corp. While the majority of women said they were overweight, 68 percent said they were satisfied with their "identity and development as an individual." But 40 percent said it was wrong for a man to tell a woman she was overweight. To improve their health, 26 percent of women said they took natural herbs and supplements, while 25 percent bought or adopted a pet, according to the survey. Four percent visited a spiritual or religious leader and one percent went to a hypnotist.

reading

Many business books are heavier on jargon than on wisdom, executives often complain. But among this year's titles are some that can sharpen managers' thinking about technology, management and careers. Other simply offer pleasure, as the holiday season gives some respite from meetings and business trips.
The exchange of ideas on the Internet, for example, is bound to keep proliferating, which is what makes 'Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything,' by Don Tapscott and Anthony Williams, worthwhile reading.
The book highlights how traditional collaboration among employees in meeting rooms is fast being superseded by collaboration on a much vaster scale. Thanks to the Internet, masses of people beyond corporate boundaries can exchange thoughts and innovate to produce content, goods and services. Web sites such as Wikipedia, the user-edited online encyclopedia, MySpace and even the Human Genome Project encourage this interaction, which spurs growth.
Some corporate executives still lament the competition this poses to their proprietary marketplace offerings, but Mr. Tapscott, a proponent of open sourcing, argues that the more you share, the more you win. He and Mr. Williams outline ways to exploit the power of online collaboration. They describe how companies from Flickr to the more traditional Procter & Gamble have benefited from inviting in ideas from customers and others browsing the Web.
For a trenchant view of business and business advice, take a dip into 'The Halo Effect . . . and the Eight Other Business Delusions That Deceive Managers,' by Phil Rosenzweig. The author, a former manager turned professor, asserts that a great deal of analysis offered by consultants, academics and the media is simplistic and often 'deeply flawed.'
When a company reports that sales and profits are on the rise, for example, people say it has a visionary leader and a brilliant strategy. When performance then falters, they say the leader was myopic and had the wrong strategy. Yet little in the way of leadership and strategy may actually have changed.
The book illustrates this point by delving into good and bad times at big companies such as Cisco and IBM. It identifies nine common business delusions, including 'single explanations' for success or failure, and 'absolute performance.' Because company performance is relative to competition, following one formula can never guarantee results, Mr. Rosenzwieg asserts. Success comes only from doing things better than rivals do them.
'The Halo Effect' is for executives who aren't looking for a quick-fix prescription and who understand that winning depends on knowing one's own company and on executing smart decisions well -- with a little luck mixed in.
Managers who want to be better bosses may turn to 'The Three Signs of a Miserable Job' by Patrick Lencioni, the author's latest management fable, which uses fictional characters to illustrate what should be self-evident: Unhappy employees are those who don't feel valued or listened to, don't know why their job matters to others, or don't know how they are performing. All these problems can be fixed easily, as Mr. Lencioni outlines in his tale. The book is a quick read.
Executives concerned with their own fates should consider 'Firing Back -- How Great Leaders Rebound After Career Disasters,' by Jeffrey Sonnenfeld and Andrew Ward. Using the accounts of dismissed top executives at companies such as Morgan Stanley, Home Depot and Hewlett-Packard, the authors show why some have been able to move on to new successes by, among other things, seeking help from old allies and acknowledging their failure.
For a colorful take on recovering from a personal and professional fall, read Michael Gates Gill's 'How Starbucks Saved My Life.' It tells of the author's unusual journey after losing a senior advertising job and his marriage in middle age. Lonely and unemployed at 63 years old -- and with no health insurance after being diagnosed with a brain tumor that wasn't malignant but cost him some hearing -- he landed a job at a Starbucks in Manhattan.
His fellow workers and boss are decades younger, mostly African-American and without the Ivy League degree he has from Yale. But rather than feel depressed taking orders for lattes and lugging garbage to the curb, Mr. Gill finds the job becomes a refuge, where he feels valued and makes friends among colleagues and regular customers.
His account of his year behind the counter at Starbucks -- which is slated to become a movie starring Tom Hanks -- is a moving reminder that having a community at work can be more rewarding than a big office or title.
No Christmas Eve column about books would be complete without mentioning some longtime Christmas favorites that are still relevant. 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens, the writer's 1843 tale of boss Ebenezer Scrooge's journey from a life of greed and miserliness to one of charity, still resonates, especially at a time when the super-rich are so exalted. And O. Henry's century-old 'The Gift of the Magi' still reminds us that love is the only gift worth possessing.
